I'm posting this for anyone who is thinking of going with Fido:
I received a crappy sim card, and when I requested a refund, fido would
only refund me the price of the sim card, but not the airtime card that
was put on the account that didn't work.
Anyone thinking of going with fido think again, when i asked the
customer service rep, "Felix" if it bothered him that they took my
money, and didn't give me anything in return, he said "No".
Think twice about giving a company like that any of your hard earned
    money!!

When I bought a new phone a few years ago they lied to me about
the capabilities of the new phone to make the sale. I was able
to get around the missing functionality without much problem,
but I decided I wouldn't take a phone from anywhere again until
I proved to myself before walking out the door that it did exactly
what they said it would do. If not, no sale. Sadly, that (and
a 'nickel and dime' mentality on price increases) is why I
no longer have a Fido. They offered me a phone by mail order
only. They wouldn't sell it to me in the store or allow me
to try it out because it was a 'special offer' not available
    in the store.

The concept behind Fido was great when it was created, but
has since gone to the dogs after being stripped to the bone.

Now that's really sleazy! I noticed someone has the website
"ihaterogers.com", I'm tempted to do one about fido, so no one else gets
ripped off by this sleazy company!

I wouldn't classify it as sleazy. They just didn't/don't understand
the concept of try before buy. The sales person who sold me my last
phone was dishonest, but I wouldn't put the whole company in one
basket (yet†). Most of the 'marketing' techniques and package details
are not longer the bargoon they once were, which isn't dishonest
or sleazy. Obviously most customers just tolerate the slow
corrosion of the value of the service they're receiving because
they want to keep the number or because the others are just
    as bad or worse.

Cantel/AT&T/Rogers† on the other hand I would toss in a basket
based on my previous experience with them.
Which is also one of the reasons I dumped Fido when Rogers
    bought them.

† If Fido has indeed been completely Rogerized, then they're
    in the same basket.

I guess I associate dishonest sales tactics with sleazy - it's just a
personal thing. I did sales for many years, and saw all kinds of
    sales tactics.
