I have just "upgraded" from my Alltel CDMA StarTac to the V60x.
Unfortunately, there seems to be trouble with the transmission signal
breaking up - the person on the other end says I drop out, often to the
point that I must repeat what I say. I've called my own voice mail and have
heard some of this. Also, at times, I hear drop-outs while listening to the
other party. These things NEVER happened with the StarTac.

The local technician was sympathetic, but couldn't find a problem with the
unit. Any idea what's going on, or suggestions on how to improve things?
BTW, I'm committed to a two-year contract, and foolishly sent the rebate
paperwork to Motorola before discovering how significant the problem has
    turned out to be.

Thanks for any input you may have.

    Hey Chuck,

I have the same problems. I have the V60 and the T720 the both are the
same as yours and I am in Florida. I had the Timeport 270 that was better
than both of these phones. I to have already sent the rebate paperwork in.
What a rip off these phones are terrible.

The StarTac and 270 didn't support 1x voice channels. The newer V60's and
all T720s support 1X data and voice. Could be some type of issue with the 1X
    voice support.

Would you explain what 1X voice support is. That might help me have a more

There was no sticker on my phone. But, the antenna problem makes sense.
I'll hold it like drinking tea - although I'll feel stupid - and let you
know if that seems to make a difference.

It does not matter how I hold the V60 or the T720 they both get very bad
signals. Even when they are just setting on a table. The signal for these 2
phones is 1 to 2 bars less than my timeport and the 120 we had.
