I have a Motorola V60i phone, Number: (303) 919-9382, DEC: 06609313839, HEX:
428E1E2F CWJ A97 6#CZ6, ESN: 428E1E2F, S/W Version 2200.01.35, PRL: 50074,
ERI: 50019, and, have an issue with it that neither Motorola, Verizon
Support, nor the Verizon Store seem to be able to get fixed, and, I need to
get to the bottom of the problem.

I'm very deaf, and, are in a lot of meetings, so, need ot have the phone set
to Vibe or Vibe/Ring. Unfortunately, the vibration intensity is so week
that I cannot detect it when worn on any kind of belt holster, so, must
carry the phone in my shirt or pants pocket.

While carrying it this way, the external buttons get depressed as I walk
around, and invariably set the Ring Tone to off, or, something I can't hear,
so...I miss calls.

I need to be able to lock the external buttons, but, do NOT wish to lock the
phone itself, with the required four-digit code, but just lock the keys.

I wrote Motorola, and, according to them (My Incident: 031101-000194)
pressing the "MENU" Button, then the "*" key is supposed to do just that. I
also found references to that working on several newsgroups and by searching
the Internet.

When that didn't work, I called the Verizon Wireless number and they told me
the same thing, and, to take the phone to the nearest Customer Support. I
took the phone in to the Park Meadows store in Littleton, Colorado, where,
they verified that the method not only didn't work on my V60i (they even
flashed it with the latest firmware/software), but on any other V60i or V60P
that they had in the store.

Sooo...basically, I need one of two things:

1. Get this to work.

2. Replace my phone with one that does work.

While this may be trivial to Verizon, it's important to me as a deaf and a
paying customer to have this feature work as designed.

Does anyone else have another idea?

Thanks!
