I have both a V300 and a Sierra Aircard. I've done speed testing using both,
and the best I get with the Aircard is around 30KBS. The best I could get
with using the V300 as a modem was 9.6 KBS. Before I bought the Aircard, I
checked with T-Mobile CSRs (2 different ones) and they both said I would get
56K either way. Guess they really don't have a clue.

However, using the Aircard is really a gas. You can be anywhere there's a
signal and get your "web fix", sitting in your car, on a park bench,
anywhere!! And, all things considered, 30K isn't too bad. Besides, for the
    price (I paid 249.00, less a 100.00 rebate from a T-Mobile retail store),
and the unlimited data transfer for 30.00 with it's own number is a heck of
    a deal.
