I have a v300 under Tmo, with the voice\tzones\data. The data plan is on
one acct ($30 a month, using my Sierra Aircard 750) and the other things
    (voice\tzones) are on another account.

If I add the data plan on my voice account, it becomes $20 instead of $30 -
$120 savings a year, but the thing is that I would need to switch out the
simcard between my phone and Aircard (which is something I dont want to do
as it would put unecessary wear on my equipment).

So the question I have is whether or not I can use a SIM copier device to
make two of the same simcards - that way, I can keep one in my phone, and
one in my Aircard? This way, I can cancel my data-only plan and use the
data add-on on my phone account.

And if I can duplicate simcards, any recommended US vendors? I see a few on
    ebay. Do these things work?

    Regards,
    George

    Forget it.

Even if you could copy it, if two cards go on air at the same time you get
    cut off.

    Well yes and no....

The Aircard handles voice, and obviously the v300 does data. If I had both
running at the same time, then Im sure Id get knocked off as you say

However, with my arrangement, I would just have to make sure that I am using
one device or the other. The Aircard does support voice (and I have the
headset for it), so I wouldnt miss a call with it.

So, any ideas on a good simcard replicator?

I've been using SIM-EMU with my T-Mobile US line for the last year and
    a half. It works great.

Wouldn't that fall under the same thing as cloning? Which is illegal.

I dont know. I would image that making copies of your paygo cards would
most likely be illegal (for obvious reasons), but I am not sure if the same
would go for regular account cards.

Nice way to get a back door on people computers.

I would avoid going to the below site.

Why not just use the v300 for GPRS data / internet via your laptop? All you
need is a USB data cable or IRDA connection. That stuff is dirt cheap on
Ebay. The phone would probably run close to the same speed as an aircard and
you wouldn't have to buy an aircard since the phone offers both voice and
    data.

Yup..I might have to do that, but some testing is in order first. Ive heard
from more then one person that the Aircard does better with data then the
phones do (in terms of throughput..).

I have both a V300 and a Sierra Aircard. I've done speed testing using both,
and the best I get with the Aircard is around 30KBS. The best I could get
with using the V300 as a modem was 9.6 KBS. Before I bought the Aircard, I
checked with T-Mobile CSRs (2 different ones) and they both said I would get
56K either way. Guess they really don't have a clue.

However, using the Aircard is really a gas. You can be anywhere there's a
signal and get your "web fix", sitting in your car, on a park bench,
anywhere!! And, all things considered, 30K isn't too bad. Besides, for the
    price (I paid 249.00, less a 100.00 rebate from a T-Mobile retail store),
and the unlimited data transfer for 30.00 with it's own number is a heck of
    a deal.
