I hate my sprint service. I am considering switching to Verizon.
I am interested in the Motorola V60 phone. I have read a couple of
reviews but would like to hear from owners of this phone. Here are my
concerns
#1 The small monochrome display looks insufficient for reading e-mail.
I dont care about wall paper of pictures, but I occasionally browse a
web page on my phone if I need directions or want to check news or
e-mail
#2 I heard battery life is bad. Please describe your satisfaction with
#3 One of the intriguing features mentioned is multiple vibrate modes.
Since I only keep my phone on vibrate, it would great to "feel"
differences in vibrate patterns to know where I have a next voicemail,
text message or incoming call.
I would appreciate any feedback on this phone.
Thanks

I've been using this phone for about two or three weeks or so (after
lusting after it for a while and finally grabbing one off e-Bay. Obviously
you can get the good new contract price right from Verizon and won't need
e-Bay.
I've been pleased with the phone. It isn't flashy in terms of extras, but
as a *phone* it's solid.
I have bad eyesight and I actually don't mind the display at all. You can
set the font to "zoom in" which makes it bigger and bolder than the
default. That may help make reading e-mail easier. i can't speak to how
well or not it displays maps, etc.Obviously you won't have the problems
viewing it in sunlight that you would have with some color phones.
I'm not a constant cell phone user, so my battery life experience is
probably not too helpful for you. I have *perceived* that the battery
meter seems to drop down a notch sooner that I might expect, but it isn't
something I would say is a downright problem.
You'll love the varying vibrate ring "tones" if all you use is vibrate.
There five different variations on the vibrating alert (dot, dash, pulse,
etc.).
As a general comment, it seems the phone has been pretty much universally
praised by those who have one.
I hope this helps.

Re: Motorola V60 for Verizon
I just went from V60i to V60s. Both excellent products. They are not
gameboys or web surfers though. They work ok for instant messaging and the
like though. It seems the "s" uses the battery up a little faster than the
"i" but only if I'm real heavy on the speaker phone.

I don't use mine for that pupose, and so I can't comment.

My v60i has excellent battery life, and so I'm quite satisfied.

The vibrate modes on mine seem to work quite well.

You get a 3 line display, quite readable, but small. Heavy email usage
would be trying, but I read email occasionally without problem. Also
check mutual fund values, etc.
I like the phone. My only complaint is when I leave the earpiece plugged
in it sometimes dials my home number by itself, probably voice
activated, which wastes 5 minutes or so each time. (blank voice mail
message.)
The case I got from verizon interferes with volume somewhat, including
speakerphone usage (which is otherwise excellent). I'd recommend just
using the clip holster or getting a case from motorola.

Re: Motorola V60 for Verizon
Just curious. How is the quality of the speaker phone?

Re: Motorola V60 for Verizon
Depends if you like a flip phone or not. I have a v120e. The main thing
for me is that it functions as advertised. It was "only" $39.99 for the
phone.

Works well. People who have had other speaker phones have reported the
v60s has a good one.

Re: Motorola V60 for Verizon
Excellent. I can leave it on the console of my suburban and chat away. Of
course people look at me funny ;-) Haven't tried it yet with the window down
though.
