V300 - mobile Phone Tools won't read my phone!

Hi all!

I have a V300 - and I have the a Motorola V300 phone, and I am using
mobile Phone tools, ver 2.20. I have the latest version, since I ran
live update.

It does not recognize my phone. I am connecting with a USB
cable(which I got on ebay). It worked once before. I am running
W2000 with all the latest patches as well. In the "unplug or eject
hardware" (the little green arrow at the bottom), it says I have the
wrong driver. Here is how I installed this v300:

- when it detects a phone, the Device Config Wizard asks: "Which
device do you wish to use?"
My options are:
Other device
HSP56 MR
Mot. USB <--- I chose Motorola USB modem, then next, and then it tries
to detect the driver. I let it go ahead by clicking next, and I get
the following:
* Modem ident.
* Opening Mot USB Modem
** Not accessible or in use by another application.******(here's where
I think there is a problem)

Then I try retry, same thing; so I click Next:

It asks: Device Manufacturer:
Motorola GSM <--- I choose this one
Motorola CDMA
Motorola TDMA

Then it asks Device Model, there are many:

I tried v300 and v300m, but they do not work.

I know it does not work b/c there is a red circle with white box
saying comminication port unavailable.

Any ideas on how to fix this one???

Thanks,

Eric

(the above was also sent to bvrp.com, the maker of the software, yet
thought someone here might know)

Uninstall the software completely and delete anything in Device Manager
under USB that has an exclamation mark. Then reinstall the software -
DO NOT plug in the cable until AFTER the software has been installed.
Then plug in the cable with the phone attached and it should all work.

Thanks - actually found another way - got a driver from:
http://www.datapilot.com/drivers.htm, and got the Driver for the
Motorola USB Cable - it works now!

Glad to hear it. The www.susteen.com website I pointed you to is the
same as the Datapilot site. They seem to have their act together EXCPT
no support for the v600 yet.
