V600 - set up to default to non-GPRS?

Firstly I am sure that other users have voiced same opinion here but the
handbook for the V600 is the worst excuse for a handbook I have ever had the
misfortune of reading - it is APPALLING! Talk about lost-in-translation....

When connecting to WAP (I assume that WAP protocol is the only "web"
process available on this cellphone) the phone always tries GPRS network
first (and, as I do not subscribe to GPRS, reports GPRS network unavailable)
THEN offers me the option of connecting via DATA. Is there anyway I can set
the wretched thing to default to the normal Data connection as opposed to
GPRS?

Main menu>browser>web sessions, select the dial-up settings, then Option
button>set as default.
