I bought my 270c at a Verizon store. I couldn't get the required
bluetooth module there though, had to go to eBAY and Motorola for
    that.

Yes it was. When I bought my TM-510 back in 2001, the 270c was on VZW's
website. And one of the bosses @ work (We're a corporate account for VZW)
    had one as well.

VZ disabled the BT stuff in later firmwares, but the originals could use the
BT sleeve. Similar to the SonyEricsson T607 (or 8) that had the BT dongle.

So Switch to ATTWS or Cingular. I've been playing with the SE T637 on ATTWS
for the past week and the coverage and quality here in the NJ/PA area is as
good as or better than Verizon. And the BT syncs perfectly with my iMac and
    iSync.

Cingular isn't here, so that's not an option. ATTWS has lousy service
on my street; Verizon is about the only clear signal I can get in my
house, and it's marginal. Two blocks north of me and everything works.

Have you considered an in building repeater? (like they have in many
cell-phone stores)? My house is in a "valley" (well surrounded by hills),
and I had to do that to get a reasonable TV signal, and just use the same
MAST as my tv antenna, for the high-gain antenna. check out

I didn't know that they existed.

And at $499 and up, I'm not about to buy one.

Sprint? Since they roam on Verizon, that may help. You could pick up the
T608 with integrated Bluetooth from them. Or wait for the Nokia CDMA phone
    w/BT that's coming soon.

Sony Ericsson pulled out of the CDMA market and only made about 10,000 T608s,
and I understand that they're crap anyhow. The Nokia will probably be a better bet.

Re: Verizon's answer about bluetooth connectivity

I have a T608 on verizon... (hacked it according to instructions you
can find all over the internet)

Anyway, it is a FULL bluetooth handset, in that it does all that
bluetooth is meant to do. (The V710 has a stripped subset of
bluetooth.) There are several quirky things about the phone, but I
    have enjoyed it thus far.

Honsetly, I have BOTH the v710 and T608 (i'm currently selling the
V710 on e-bay). I would stick with the T608 until the next bluetooth
    handset comes along.

    Cons (against T608):
-V710 has a MUCH nicer color screen, but inside both are very decent.
Outside both suck pretty much equally.
    -V710 has better battery life
-T608 Outgoing text messaging and WAP browser do not work
-T608 says SPRINT all over it!
    -T608 menu's respond slowler
-You have to hack T608 to work (and tell verizon it's a t61c for them
    to put in ESN)
-v710 is clamshell,T608 is a candy bar type phone

    PROs :
    -T608 is cheaper... you can get one for $200 on e-bay, V710 > $400
-T608 has FULL bluetooth.. I can sync contacts and with computer for
instance. I can send files over bluetooth and so forth!
-T608 works very well with my Tungsten T3 and jabra bluetooth headset.
-T608 is smaller, and VERY pocketable
-T608 DOES NOT have a camera (yes this IS a pro!)
-T608 has J2ME, not BREW crap!
-T608 has internal antenna, but so far no reception problems... coming
off of a v60c with its horrible antenna design, this is a very welcome
    change!
