I finally joined the 20th century and picked up a V505 from ATT
Wireless today. When I store my phone numbers, I'm given an option to
store them on the SIM card, but if I do, I can not associate a photo
with the number (not a big deal).
What are the benefits of storing a phone number on a SIM card?
Does anyone know how many phone numbers I can store on the SIM card?
Would I be better off storing the numbers to my phone?
TIA,
Dave

The numbers are transportable between phones. Just pop the Sim into another
phone and your phone list is available.
Cons: You cannot attach photos (as you have found) or voice commands to
numbers stored on the sim.
Pros: Storing phonebook on sim saves phone memory for other stuff like
photos.
Option: Store some numbers in the phone (where you want photos or voice
commands) and the rest on the sim. Or store all your numbers on the sim, and
then duplicate entries on the phone for those where you want pics and voice
tags.
Cant give info on how many numbers the sim can store. I THINK that this can
be dependent on the actual sim card and the service provider. It is not
based on the phone type. But I suspect you will not fill it up, as they
generally hold about 100 numbers, which should be plenty unless you have
lots and lots of friends, which is quite impossible if you have only just
got a mobile phone ;-)
