What a joke.
After paying a fortune for the V3 with NO CD and then finding a mobile
Phone Tools CD to ATTEMPT to use Bluetooth. Note: you have to shell
out more money.
After several attempts including reinstalling XP I'm totally
frustrated and lost.
What had been easy with Sony T616 is a nightmare with those clowns at
Motorola.
I'm using a Belkin USB adapter using the native XP SP2 drivers (I've
also tried the Belkin). Clearly BT is working because it
authenticates with passkeys but after that nothing.
I've disabled firewall settings and still nothing.
Why the **** can't Motorola make a simple interface like SE that
allows you to see contacts, audio or wallpaper?
Any suggestions short of selling the phone?

Yep it is crap. After your software has set up a bluetooth modem. Go in to
the Options in PhoneTools and choose change modem, choose the bluetooth
modem. Its a crap way to connect if you ask me, but thats how the've done
it.

Have you checked the Belkin website for the latest drivers?
You will more than likely be using Widcom variant drivers which will need
updating in order to be fully compatible with Motorola phones.
Had the problem myself, now resolved.
Hope this helps.

The "latest" Belkin drivers are pretty old. Better to use the Microsoft
drivers.

Re: Motorola mobile Phone Tools is PURE CRAP!!!
that's cuz you got a CRAP phone, v3 aint no good...just a bunch of junk in a
small phone...the 620 and 551 do the same thing the crappy v3 does..
and learn how to use the software before you post..

If the Belkin driver is Widcomm (99.9% of all BT drivers are), MS drivers
will also do the trick.

Re: Motorola mobile Phone Tools is PURE CRAP!!!
I use Motorola BT dongle and MPT (version 3) with my V3 and no problems, it
works perfect.
