I have a belkin bluetooth adapter for my laptop. When I open mobile phone
tools, I have the current version, all the phone says is initialize and
nothing else. If I specify new phone, select bluetooth connection, phone
model it does not detect. The bluetooth is working because I can transfer
photos to phone just using bluetooth software. Any ideas ?

Re: Bluetooth and mobile phone tools problem
What I recently did was - uninstall Belkin and remove dongle - turn off/restart - plug in
dongle and wait a minute - turn off/restart. Use tray icon or control panel one to bond
with phone if needed. Open mobile phone tools then probably - new phone - select the modem
when offered and allow XP to find the drivers. (I.e. just don't use the Belkin CD at all
if using XP SP2 and mPT) Note that the initialisation takes a while even when it's
working.
Pat
(Hope I remembered that right - not everyone agrees with this method!)

Re: Bluetooth and mobile phone tools problem
From my POV mPT is nothing short of crap. Using, rather attempting
to, it with a V3 has been absolutely useless.
Do youselft a favor and abandon it. If you do not have it -- DON'T
WASTE YOUR MONEY!
After removing it from my system I use Microsoft's BT interface and
FTP transfers. IT WORKS!
Just another opinion to add to the growing list of those having
problems with the crap. But then what else would you expect from a US
corporation where only a few actually produce something worthwhile and
care more about marketing BS and rewarding corrupt executives.

I got it my wife's V3 connected to MPT on the first try. No problems
whatsoever.
IMHO, its a decent product.

Re: Bluetooth and mobile phone tools problem
Check your installation and make sure you've run "Live Update" to get
the latest version that has v3 support. It works as advertised. I also
have and like DataPilot but it doesn't support the v3 yet. They have an
update scheduled for next week to add v3 support.

Re: Bluetooth and mobile phone tools problem
Judging by the number of questions in this group I suspect you are the
exception rather than the rule.
I switched from a SE T616 for a number of reasons but compared to mpt
their BT software put them to shame. And I almost forgot -- the
software was free!

Re: Bluetooth and mobile phone tools problem
I fixed the problem by just using new profile and selecting modem bluetooth.
They make it very confusing but it works . Just didn't realize it was
classified as a modem also
