v66 cannot be seen by computer

i have a v66 which cannot be seen by the computer. no usb tone when i
connect it and mobile phone tools and datapilot cannot see it at all. my
v300 gets recognized right away and is seen by both programs with the same
usb cable. is it just a defective v66 phone in that regard. thanks

after posting the message, i looked at the phone connectors and saw some
gunk on one of the power pins. i scraped it off and now the phone is good
to go and i copied all my numbers on the v300 to the v66. just a little
piece of dirt. wow.
