Hi!
Just got my first Motorola v550 and I didn't get the CD with Mobile Phone
Tool. How do I get my hand on it?
I need it for Sync with Outlook (contacts)!
Help!
Thanks!

Re: Motorola v550 MPT
You have to buy it and USB cable for 30 bucks from Motorola (or on
ebay). But this software is full of bugs. Do not waste your time and
money unless you want to spend the rest of your life fixing screwed
contacts database in your outlook.
Good luck!

How do you figure its messed up? I downloaded this from there site and
I have not had any problems with it, I ran the update for it. I use
bluetooth through a Dell I8600 w/WinXP Pro and SP2. Seriously I have
not had a problem with the software at all. I use Outlook 2003 with
all updates also.

Re: Motorola v550 MPT
It is very easy to figure up that address information from your outlook
phonebook goes missing after you just ran synchronization.
I dont know what are you using your MPT for, but it looks like you are
one of those lucky people who do not have problems with this crappy
software.
There are a number of very well known issues with it.
In my case there are two major:
1. every time I run synchronization MPT erases parts of address
information from my outlook database (the funny thing is the address is
not stored in my phone: A630). The guys from BVRP (company which wrote
MPT) reproduced the problem and admitted the existence of the bug.
2. names containing nonstandard characters are trunceted to 12
characters on transfer to the phone (you can fix it manually on the
phone, but come on...). I have plenty of those names on my phone so it
sucks from my point of view. The worst thng is, however, that on resync
the truncated names replace the correct ones in the outlook. BVRP
aknowledges this bug too.
Do you want more?
Some phones' drivers do not work at all. There are big problems with
bluetooth and sometimes with autoupdate and much more... If you want
details go to their website support forum and see for yourself:
