I have a new Motorola V220 Cell Phone. It has a small connector top left
(opposite the antenna covered by a small rubber plug. So far I have not
found any reference to this in the (lousy) manual. I suspect this is for PC
connection via USB. Is this so? What can be done with this? Download Address
Book? Need software? Who has such software?

    Peter.

    Re: Connector

That's an antenna connector for use with the car kit with external antenna.
The USB cable plugs into the bottom of the phone, same as the charger cord.
You can buy Mobile Phone Tools and a cable on ebay very cheap (under$15),
shop around to pay $30 or pay $60 to Motorola. Don't worry about the version
of the software. As long as it's at least version 2.11 it will automatically
update itself to the latest version during installation (assuming internet
connection is present). Do make sure the cable is the right one for your
phone. MPT will let you synch your address book to Outlook or OE or to a
separate database, backup your phone, download ringers, photos and wallpaper
    and compose and edit ringers.

    Re: Connector

Yes, on this particular phone, the data cable plugs into the side. You can
use a digital camera usb cable to actually connect it to your computer.
