Once a year I manage to lose my cell phone, and that time of year has
arrived - Sat. nite my Motorola v600 took a ride in a taxi without me.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile USA. They said they were
discontinuing the sale of the V600 (If you go to their website, they're
givng some great rebates on V300 and v600 phones until th end of March). The
rep. said that T-Mobile would offer the Motorola V330 phone, in stores on 4
    April. http://www.mobilegazette.com/motorola-v330.htm. The price, $199.
Being that's less than a week away, I'm inclined to wait. Just wondering how
    real that date is.

Anyone heard or know anything on the subject/price?

I had heard 4/1 on howardforums.com. No joke intended.

Looks like this will be delayed:
"As part of T-Mobile's ongoing commitment to ensuring the best product
experience for our customers, we have temporarily delayed the launch of the
Motorola V330.It was previously communicated that the Motorola V330 would
launch on April 1; however, the launch has been delayed."

Any idea on how long? Heard it was a software glitch.

How does that compare with the V600?

V600 is a tri-band GSM. v330 is quad-band. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same - camera, blue tooth, T-Zones, etc. The v600 may have a "better" camera, though I'm not sure.

Note that the v600 is only tri-band IF you buy it from TMo. If you buy
it anywhere else it's quad-band. For some reason TMo ordered them
    disabled.

Yeah, I signed up with T-Mobile on Wednsday and they told me if I signed up and got the v300 then I can come back on Friday and exchange for the new phone. I go back in on Friday and what do you know, it's not there. They tell me to check back in the next week. I called them about 12 hours ago and they said they aren't in and had 8 sent back already and they don't have a date yet.

Oh great, so now I have 7 days left on my 14 day gross period and no phone. Well, I have a phone but it doesn't get reception in my house.

So here's my situation. I lost my cell phone. I'm locked into a contract
'til Aug. 15 and cannot upgrade my old handset. The v300 is on its way out
but the v330 is not yet available from T-Mo. Is there anyway I can buy the
v330 from someone else and have T-Mo give me a SIM with my reactivated
    account?

I was wondering the same thing so I went to ebay and looked around on Google and this phone isn't available anywhere. Reviews don't even have the full specs like the usb data cable. Does it have one? Who knows.

::: Sigh ::: Looks like we have to deal with the v300 even if it's on its last legs and it's not even available on the internet and I noticed they pulled it from inside the store.

Bummer! Will wait until early next month to see what happens. Am going on
vacation and won't be needing - or wanting - any phone until then. Let us
    know what you hear.
