I got my cingular bill yesterday with an extra charge of $5.99 for
direct bill charges. The bill states that you have to go to
www.cingular.com/db to review the charges. I can not go there and
Cingular customer service cannot tell me how to get there or what the
    charges are for.

I want to dispute the bill but no where on the 9 page bill is there
any fine print that tells you how to dispute the bill.

I have had it with these assholes. I'm simply going to drop my
service and they can to shouve the termination fee.

    Anyone with any helpfull sugesstions?
This is not the first time that I have had troulbe with Cingular

Why can't you "go there"? No internet connection?

    From the page linked above:

"DirectBill lets you purchase MEdia products such as ringtones, games,
and graphics online. The charges are conveniently billed to your Cingular
    Wireless phone bill."

Did you buy any of the above items for your phone? $5.99 sounds like
you may have bought a game ...

Tried logging into direct bill and I couldn't.
The customer service rep was unable to help me set up a userid.
They couldn't tell me what the carge was for, therefore it is and
error. I never logged in and bought a game or any other such
    nonsense.

You're worried about a $6 discrepancy? My first months bill from Cingular
was $400 ($39 Plan-scant usage). The following bills average $80...again, on
a $39 plan, with NO overages. No one is willing or capable of sorting this
    out. Cingulars billing is FUBAR!

Have you tried going in person to a Cingular store? It's harder for them to
blow you off when you're standing right there.

& i thought i was the only one that hated cingular with a passion..... well check this out, i bought me a new phone on my own, not thru cingular....i called them to put the new phone on file with them as far as serial numbers and so forth for insurance purposes....they charged me $18 for that and extended my contract 2 more yrs from the date i called them......every month since i been with them i've had a issue, i had a $400 bill 2 months ago on a $60 plan with 20 pages of calls and 3000 mins used in 30 days.......i was heated.....the next month, a $270 bill on a $60 plan.....im almost in tears @ these bills.....they sent me detailed billing and there was no way i could say they made a huge mistake, i jus paid em....just yesterday a rep quoted me a wrong medianet plan which was about to cost me a fortune if i hadn't called back.......my moto t720 internet pay per use charges was $5 or less but when i get my moto v400 the same kb usage costs me $43.....WHY?? one rep said its the more powerful phone and another rep says she dont know why someone told me that..... they cant tell me.....i swear if i can come up with the cancellation fee, cingular is history, til then i have to deal with them for "another" 2 yrs and i will never return...i tell you what though, i will never call them again to put a new phone on file with them......cingular is a rip off....i regret signing up with them.....my contract now ends 2/07 but i wont be eligible to upgrade thru them until 11/07.....go figure.....this is the most horrible cell phone service i have ever had.... i will be going back to sprint........

as far as directbilling goes, it doesnt have to be just thru cingular, i have ordered things off different websites that charges your carrier or your cingular cellphone bill, have you ordered from somewhere else or is it possible someone else might have done it ?you have to register your account on the cingular home page to get access to stuff so if you can ever log on to the cingular directbilling page there is a chance you can dispute it and they will refund you on your next bill because i have done it many times...lol

I would say screw the cancelation fee. Just cancel and don't pay. If
they try to mess up your credit, save all of these bogus bills and
show them to the credit bureau.

These cell phone companies are real scummy. Years ago Verizon was Bell
Atlanic (merged with GTE) and before cell phones they were a reputable
company. Now Verizon is is just like the rest. Their stock proce has
gone nowhere because it is now a cell phone scum company.

    This is what i'm doing.........

im finding places all over the net to express my feelings about cingular. I just got off the phone with cingular and this very nice rep told me they wasnt suppose to bill me an upgrade fee nor extend my contract. he credited me the $18 charge and correcected my contract length back to original dates. he stated that when and if i did upgrade thru them they would have charged me the $18 fee again. They're was no proof that i agreed to an contract renewal. he stated that if it went to court they would have lost. i see it depends on who you talk to at cingular because i was on the phone with him at least a hour. if they made this error im convinced my cell phone bills was an error too. my contract now ends on 2/25/06 and im very pleased. i cant wait. i just submitted a report to the place below and im looking for more. this site had 356+ cingular complaints.

Whenever i have a probelm with a bill a call their customer service # on the
bill and every time they remove the amount from my bill with no problem it
happened three months in a row and three months in a row they credit my
    account the money no problem.

I tried out Cingular but got poor reception at my home and I use my cell
phone for all long distance. I brought the phone back the next day. Then I
got a bill for over $200! After talking to a customer service person for
about 20 minutes it was reduced to $3.70. The funniest part was the awful
English spoken. It wasn't a foreign accent either, just poorly spoken
English. After hearing my story and looking at the billing information, the
customer service rep said; "Youse ain't no reliable for dat", which I took
as meaning that I was not liable for the charges.
