.....if so, here's what worked for me. I installed the piece of c**p MPT
Lite software that came with the phone and before the phone went anywhere
near my computer I updated the MPT software to the latest version. I then
disabled the wireless network on the my computer, turned off the Firewall
and used a program called 'End It All' (available here and everyone should
    have this utility):

    http://www.docsdownloads.com/Tier1/enditall.htm

to shut down all other programs. I then ran the MPT software and connected
the phone when asked to do so. Finally, the phone was recognized. This was
after many previous attempts to get this running and a call to the Motorola
technical team who were simply useless.

It still appears that I cannot upload my Contacts and Calendar from Outlook
without paying for the 'Deluxe' version of MPT. So in order to get any sort
of functionality I have to pay extra - not impressed!

    I hope this helps someone.

    Regards

    Alan

I am not surprised at all that people have trouble getting MPT to
work. I had to do all the below, plus disconnect all USB devices
    before my phone was detected.

Re: Problems Getting MPT to See Your Phone?

    Hi:

I've been following the V180 thread. We have two V180's and two V220's.

I downloaded the drivers for the V180 (had to go to about 10 different
    sites
to get a version that would install correctly) which many seem to think
    will
work also for the V220. I downloaded MPT.

After many gyrations I got the MPT software to see my V180. Works just
dandy under the DEFAULT profile. Now, when I connect a V220, windows
recognizes (through a single beep) that a device has been connected to the
USB port. MPT does not seem to find the device and it shows a generic
    phone
on my screen and is stuck in "initializing".

Any ideas on how I can get MPT to work with 4 individual phones? Do I
    need
    a different set of drivers?

    Bob
