tracfone motorola V170

I have a motorola V170 Tracfone i just bought. i need to know how to
download ringtones to my phone, and also what are the best ringtone
websites that support the motorola V170 Tracfone.

Good Luck, I have tried on many occassions to contact tracfone on this
subject. The only thing they give is a link to about 1000 different websites
that have nothing to do with the Tracfone Motorola V170

I've seen post in dozens of forums on the net asking how to download ringtones/wallpapers to this phone. Simply put, YOU CAN'T!

I know this because I recently purchased this TracFone and wanted to do just that. After countless hours of reading on the web, checking the manual, and simply banging my head against the wall, I contacted technical support at TRACFONE. Their reply was " you can't, we do not offer that service at this time"

Makes sense, if one reads in the manual, it specifies to go to the "browser" option in the menu. there is no "browser" option in the menu.... it doesn't exist yet. and the way it seems from talking with technical support, there wont be any.I ask whom I could sign up with for this option and she said" the phone will only work with them, so I cannot get this option yet"

My advice is to stay away from this phone. The V60i is a better phone, and actually has better features once you compare the options of what actually is available. It's also cheaper and gets a hell of a better signal (trust me I know, I have both) and the batteries last longer, also it sounds clearer.

Have doubts? contact technical support and ask them. Somebody should sue because they ae advertising something that they do not support or have.


PLEASE PASS THIS INFO ALONG THE WEB TO EVERYWHERE YOU CAN, ESPECIALLY TO REVIEW PAGES AND SUCH. OTHERS SHOULD BE WARNED BEFORE THEY PURCHASE THIS PIECE OF CRAP.

I emailed Tracfone and asked them about downloading ringtones to the Motorola
V170. Their reply:

Thank you for your interest in Tracfone,

We are responding to your recent inquiry. Unfortunately even though the
phone might bring that feature,
we do not provide service for that feature as yet, when we do, our
customers will be advised. Feedback from
our customers is very important to us.
