I looked up the Razr V3 on Wikipedia, probably the most popular online
encyclopedia in the world today. I find this attached entry of interest
because a rep at Moto told me there were no problems with the Razr. If you
Moto guys are lurking here.......... why not write down the part about the
volume and take it upstairs at your next lunch and learn.

    Here it is:

    Razr V3
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

    The Motorola V3 Razr
The Motorola Razr V3 is one of the thinnest clamshell mobile phones
currently on the market. It is 13.9 mm thick, with the display only 5 mm
thick. Made of anodised aluminium, the quad-band GSM phone sports has dual
color displays, a VGA camera, long-range Bluetooth, MPEG4 video clip
playback, and Java 2 with 3D graphics. It also has a 22 kHz speaker for full
mp3 ringtones. There is no standard button keypad; the flat touchpad is a
nickel-plated copper-alloy with numbers and symbols chemically etched into
    an electro-luminescent strip

The response by owners of this phone has generally been very positive, but
there have been some complaints about the phone book not being able to hold
addresses, the relatively small amount of memory and the low maximum volume
    during telephone calls.

This phone is carried by Cingular and T-Mobile USA in the USA and by many
    companies in other countries.

    Re: Razr V3 on Wikipedia

The volume can actually be set much louder - even to the point of damaging
the speaker, but FWIU, it is limited due to certification standards. It's a
simple matter to use MotoKit or P2KTools to set the gain tables higher. The
earpiece and speakerphone are defaulted to "1" on a scale of 8 nad setting
it to 4 or 5 makes it loud enough that you'll turn it down except for the
    noisest locations.
The issue of the phone book is really a matter it's purpose. The v3 is NOT
a PDA. The phone book is there for the purpose of making phone calls - not a
    general reference tool.
