I am currently stationed in Europe and I have a Motorola V180 tri-band
phone. What am I going to have to do, or have done to it, when I return to
the states to get it to work... and how much is it going to cost? Anyone
with any advice or words? Thanx!

Is the V180 locked to a service provider?

What type of service are you looking for in the US - prepaid or contract?
Or are you looking to just roam on your current European account?

You said it's triband. Is it 900/1800/1900 or 850/1800/1900? If 900,
you'll get poorer coverage in the US because it's missing one of the
coverage bands in the US. If it has the 850 (sometimes called 800) band,
you may have poorer coverage in Europe (depending on where you are), but
    full coverage in the US.

I will be looking for contract service. I plan on using it, if able, when I
come back from my current assignment.

Not sure, I'll have to check into that.
