V220 Defective display

I got a Motorola V220 in January From cingular when recently i turned
it on and the display was black. Will my 1 year warranty cover this?
Will cingular switch my phone?

Can't say for Cingular, but my V545 did this to me within 21 days of me
getting it. Orange UK replaced it for me by courier the following day.
