V3 unlock and security codes????

I'm sure this has to be one of the most common problems, but I bought
a Razr V3 from a person on Ebay. I'm trying to reset the passwords
for the lock/unlock and security codes. The guy who sold it to me
claims he doesn't recall the code for lock/unlock. He also claims
cingular told him the security code is 0000. I've tried 0000, 000,
1234, 123, ect and nothing.

How can I get this corrected?

try 000000 for the master lock. If that doesn't work take it to your
carrier and they can do it.

Look at www.motox.us and www.motomodder.net and use one of the programs
there. Even you can load modified software which is able to record video.

o.k. 00000 did work for the master unlock code, but that still leaves
me with the lock/unlock phone code missing. The original owner now
tells me she never changed the code, but that's obviously not right
since none of the usual defaults work. I guess I'll run it into
Cingular.

Actually, you're good to go.

Try to change this code, but when it asks for the old password, press
the "menu" button, then enter 000000 and you'll be good to go.

Did you try 12345

Also try the last 4digits of her old phone number and also try them in
reverse. i.e. if the number was 555-236-7598 try 7598 and 8957. Some
dealers do that when they set up the phone but not so much anymore.

You're right. I actually stumbled upon this last night. I was trying
every code I could think of and then I hit the wrong key (menu key).
I was prompted for the "security" code and I entered it. Bingo,
change password comes up.

Or read my message above -- You don't need the 4 digit code, the 6 digit
one is enough to override the 4 digit code.
