I bought a blue tooth adapter for my desktop and I bought MPTools.
When I hooked up the adapter in recognized my v551 just fine.
Yesterday I loaded and updated MPT now my adapter thinks my 551 is a
computer and won't stay connected to it and MPT can't find it at all.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

FWIW Paul, I orded this stuff before I rec'd your message.

My Bluetooth Places shows the V551 as a personal Computer, but it works
fine with MPT. Outside of MPT, you can check the Bluetooth link by
verifying that the modem is connected. If you are running WinXP,
    start-control panel-phone and modem options-modems tab.
The Bluetooth Modem, attached to Com[N] should appear whether the phone is
present or not. Select that modem, properties, Diagnostics, Query Modem.
If the Bluetooth link is active, it should show a bunch of text in the box.
If not, you should visit My Bluetooth Places and verify that "pairing" is
active. The Modem at this point has nothing to do with MPT.

If the modem works here, but not in MPT, it might just be the version.
Have you run LiveUpdate to 3.25b? Watch the icon in My Bluetooth Places.
It should have a green pair of arrows indicating that data is being
exchanged while you are running the modem diags. This changes to a check
mark when you are not using the link. When you start MPT, the icon should
    show the green arrows again.

F12 while in MPT shows all of the modem traffic. There is a lot when the
system is working. When it can't find the phone, you can see it try every
few seconds, ending with a line about ATE0, and closing the modem com port.
Make sure that the modem com port there is the same one that shows up in
your modem diagnostics. If you move a USB-Bluetooth dongle from one port
to another on your PC, it might be a different com port. You can adjust
    that with F6 in MPT.

    Re: v551-MPT-bluetooth???

Thanks for your help. I believe the problem was my Windows XP wanting
to use their driver. I followed the instructions from another in this
newsgroup and forced windows to accept the driver that came with my
Bluetooth adapter and all is working now.
