Motorola V265 need help with mute

HI!

We bought Motorola V265's in April. I haven't been using the phone much
but yesterday I found that my phone is muted. The phone will ring if
someone calls me but I can't hear them. And if I call someone it does
appear to put the call through but again I can't hear. In the bottom
right corner of the screen it will say "mute", I can hit that and it
will let me "unmute" but it doesn't make any difference. I've been
through my book and through the phone and I can't find any way to unmute
it. Does anyone know what could be going on? Being a newbie to cell
phones I'm hoping that I'm just missing something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm going camping this week and
will need the phone.

Just an update in case anyone else ever has problems with this. I was
finally able to get ahold of Alltel and they told me to bring the phone
in as they would probably have to replace it.

There is a design flaw in the ear speaker that causes an open circuit.
It is easy to fix, and seems to be appearing in the later releases of
the phone.

newbie to cell phones I originally thought I had done something.
