Hi,
I recently bought an A780 and am trying my level best to get it sync
with my IBM Thinkpad T41p. I got Mobile Phone Tools v 3.3 free. I
enable bluetooth on my laptop, make my phone discoverable and all the
rituals, and I get to the point where they both think they're bonded.
But when I try to send anything from my mobile to laptop, it simply
says "Failed to send to <my machine name>".
When I try to configure mobile Phone Tools, it asks me for the model,
I'm not sure whether I should select "A780BT" or "A780+BT". I tried
with both, with either one, when I select it and click "Next", it says,
"Please insert your Bluetooth device into your PC now.". I don't even
know what that means. I make my phone discoverable (it is already
bonded, so I'm not even sure if it is necessary to do that). Anyway, it
times out after a while, disabling the "Next" button and simply showing
the "Back" button. I once sync'ed using USB cable, so I know it can be
done. I'm at my wit's end here, and I'm not able to get this working
which makes the phone lose half its value for me. I searched the FAQ on
motorola website, but it was as minimal as it can be, with all one word
answers and stuff. No luck there either.
I would really appreciate any help with this.
Thanks,
Lakshman.

I'm glad to hear you got Mobile Phone Tools for free, it's junk! You
may want to look for another application.
