Depending on the firmware and carrier's customizations, you may have to
turn off AUTOUPDATE in that menu before the choices to set the time/date
manually will appear. | | | |

would work properly. You will not loose any data

#5 | | Guest | Where does the Autoupdate feature update from? Is it each time the phone is
connected to a computer, via the phone network or both? Just curious.
Cheers

#6 | | Guest | It updates from the network. When you step off a plane in another time
zone the phone will display the correct time for that area.

#7 | | Guest | Why isn't my phone updating with the change to standard time? It is
set for auto update. If I set it for manual and then set the correct
standard time, it is ok. But then if I set it back to auto update, it
reverts to daylight time (a couple of minutes off at that).
Doesn't the cell provider (Cingular) do all of this stuff
automatically?

#8 | | Guest | The fact that it changes back to the wrong time when you switch to
automatic is proof that it's working. Apparently someone is asleep at
the switch and didn't make the adjustment. If it's not corrected by
morning check with another Cingular user and see what they show. You
would expect it to be automatic but only if it was setup that way (like
when you set up a new PC).
