Opera Mini for all My Opera Community Members

Thursday, 3. November 2005, 16:52:17

Opera Mini is in the process of being rolled out all over the world.
We've gotten a lot of requests from My Opera Community members saying
it should be available for all users to get their hands on it. Well,
we think they're right. We'd like to offer this sneak peek of Opera
Mini, free of charge, to all our community members. ...

I have a Moto E398.. When I click to download via wap, is says there was
a Jad request error. The site auto detects the correct phone.
What could be causing this?

I had the same problem, and the alternate link John posted solved
that.

However T-mobile blocks port 80, opera mini just sits there, and I
can't find a way to change the port. I have a V3 Razr.

Does anyone know a way to change the port!

How can you surf with the built in WAP browser if port 80 is blocked?
You'll have to correct that in order to surf with Opera anyway.

The opera web site does say that you might need to be configured for
internet access instead of WAP access, but that didn't seem to affect my
US-Cingular download.
Maybe this page will help you to reconfigure your phone.

What I don't see is a way to save the jar on your PC, where you could
download it to the phone via bluetooth or USB.

It downloads and works well on my Motorola V551, US-Cingular.
The little tiny pages are a bit hard to navigate though. The nytimes seems
to scroll thought all of the sidebar stuff that I normally ignore, and I
never located the stuff I wanted.

I'm going to have to surf a couple of pages side by side on PC and phone to
see what bookmarks I want to save.

I was impressed with the clarity of the display.

Presumably through the WAP gateway, rather than direct to the HTTP Web.

Probably won't help.

Use right joystick to scroll down the page a screen at a time, watching the
scrollbar on the right. NYTimes.com content appears about 60% of the way down
the page. (Use left joystick to scroll up a screen at a time.)
