Sorry to reply twice... But the cable you need for a V3 is just a USB
cable, you can buy 'em new for less then $10.

However, the software is worth more. You also don't need a warranty for
    software though.

And because they don't have to "warranty" it when the user breaks the
product, but not in a way that is detectable.

Yes. The stupid belt clips for my v710 cases keep breaking, not entirely
but in a way that makes them look usable but lets them fall off my belt
    when I'm not expecting it.

Wow. You learn something new every day. I can honestly say I've been lucky
in that regard, since I've never had a belt clip break on me.

Mind you, anything that has ever broken on me has done so long after the
    warranty period has expired...

I've wrecked a number of belt clips over the years, mostly on chairs, or
by getting the cell caught between a car's seat and the door frame.

There seems to be no real warranty on the cases. I got one of the stores
to exchange the clips once, but now they're holding fast to selling a
kit of two different sized clips (only one fits my phone) for $4.95.

I did that once, but won't again. I'm told that when I go to the hi-cap
battery, I have to put a new back on the phone, which will probably make
it too big for the case.

They had such a *good* holster for the StarTac...
