Weird V551 Behavior

I pretty much like my V551, but it is starting to act weird on me.

I have assigned the small key on the left side of the phone to actuate the
bluetooth menu versus of changing the ring style as it was originally set up
by MOTO. Kind of crazy to have an exterior button set up to change the ring
style as it gets hit in my pocket and sometimes changes to silent style.
Who thought of this idea???

Anyway, after my phone has been left on for several days the key will
reassign on it's own back to the ringer style change key versus the
bluetooth menu key. If I turn the phone off and on it will again work as I
intended for several days to a week, then will go back to changing the ring
style.

Anybody have an idea how I can fix this behavior?

As for the phone re-seting itself...

I've noted this kind of behaviour on my v551 AND my wife's t720.
Motorolas response on the t720 was to suggest turning the phone off
once in a while as it has a memory leak in the software. This seems
to work on the v551 as well. I just give my phones a rest every few
days for a few seconds.

NOW...

How did you manage to reprogram the side keys? I've been trying to
figure that one out whenever I've had a bit of spare time with no luck
at all.
