HELP please

I'm trying to put my Motorola V500 into flash mode, pressing * and # and
power at the same time doesn't put it into flash mode.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

This normally works on Motorola phones

Phone powered off
Hold down the * and # keys and keep holding them down
Now turn on phone
Phone will boot to black screen in flash mode
Now you can let go of the * and # keys
Your phone bootloader software version will be displayed on the screen
For normal service power off and on again.

Many thnaks for the info, unfortunatly it does'nt appear to work with my or
my wifes Motorola phone.

What can you do from there? I have a USB cable only and no software.
