what are your criteria? have you been to a store that carries both to
    inspect and hold each?

Both have the features I want.
Which has the best reception, fewest problems, likes and dislikes is what I
    am looking for.

If you don't need the Analog capability, the E815 is a better option
than the V710. The E815 is an updated/upgraded version.

i can speak only to the 710. we've had a pair for about 4 months now
and i couldn't be happier. reception is very good, audio is
sufficiently loud and no calls have been dropped. i've not used the
camera much but then i didn't buy a phone to take pictures.

I own both, but I am using the 6255i. The V710 is sleek looking, feels
durable, is packed with features, but has a couple of drawbacks. The
picture quality is not as advertised, first generation camera phones
take better pictures. You literally have to get the lighting perfect to
take a half decent picture. The speaker phone feature does not work
well, I am not sure if it is trying to pick up background noise or what.
I could hear other people, but they could not hear me most of the
time. The graphics are great, but you cannot customize the screen saver
    on the mini screen.

The 6255i is not sleek, but not hard on the eyes either. The hinge does
not feel tight like the V710, but I don't slam it, so it will last me a
long time. The graphics are decent, and the mini screen is
configurable. The speaker phone works well for me, as does the Blue
tooth. It is also packed with features. I absolutely love the 6255i.
The camera quality is average, but I don't have to get the lighting
perfect, I can snap a shot quickly, and email it off.

I use the phone for work. I take snapshots in the field, and don't have
time to worry about finding additional lighting for the area. Other
than the things I mentioned about the V710, it is a well made phone, but
the main features that I rely on, are the ones it comes up short on.

The 6255i is the phone for me
