I received a headset for my V220 from Motorola USA gratis and without
requesting it. However, it arrived without the cable to connect it to
the phone. Or is the cord stored somewhere in the headset and I am
just too dumb to find it? If not, where can I get a cord/cable? The
part no.for the headset is SYN12268. Went to the web site for
Motorola but did not find any info there.
Thanks, Tom

Re: Gift Headset for V220
Went back to the web site and found a picture of the headset(HS850)
SJ0031B, and it is a wireless headset. So I need the charger, not a
cable. Interesting promotion by Motorola. Give the headset away and
sell the charger. Or did they just bolox up somebody else's order?
Correction: Product number on my device is SYN1226B.

Thy probably did. The HS850 only works on Bluetooth enabled phones,
which the V220 is not. The more upscale devices that have Bluetooth also
have the same charger plug as the one you find on the HS850, so you
can charge the HS850 with the phone's charger.
Since the V220 does not support Bluetooth, you cannot use it with the
headset. And because the V220 comes with a charger that is incompatible
with the HS850, you cannot use the headset for anything else (e.g. on
your computer) because you have no way to charge it. Bad luck.

Re: Gift Headset for V220
Thanks for the replies. Found a charger on the net and ordered it.
Intrigued by the use of the headphone with a computer since I cannot
use it with my cell phone. May just invest in a dongle and see how it
works. thanks again. Tom.

I am using a DLink DBT-120 on Windows XP.
This adapter and the DLink drivers work fine for passing pictures, video,
java obex push, and internet access with my V551. They will not allow my
Motorola HS820 bluetooth headset to be used as a Windows audio device,
though. It appears as a device, but I have no volume control, and I never
get any sounds. I wanted to use it as a headset for IP telephony.
Did you ever call Motorola and ask them for the proper headset?

Re: Gift Headset for V220
I did not call Motorola and ask for the proper headset. They
apparently sent it to me because I ordered the Phone Tools CD and had
a problem with a bad disk which I had to return for a replacement.
Best guess I have for receiving the headset. Thanks for the headsup
about using the HS820 with a dongle. Tom
