My new e815 charger has a different voltage (4.6v) than the older
chargers that I have for my V265 and bluetooth speaker (5.9v). The
    connectors are the same.

Can I safely use the old 5.9v charger on the e815?

    Thanks

Yes. The charging time will be different; compare the maximum rated
current output listed on each charger.

    Aren't those lithium-ion batteries? I don't know if I'd do that.

All Motorola phones marketed in at least the last 5 years have used
lithium-ion batteries. The general rule with Motorola chargers is: if the
plug fits, the charger is compatible.
