I got my e815 from Bell Mobility in Canada just before Xmas. I am finding
that it needs charging every day and a half ... even though I don't talk
that much on the phone or have the bluetooth on.
Does this sound like a deffective battery ?
Thanks,

Yes, I don't use my phone very much as a phone but I do sometimes take
pictures and it's lasted two days easily. I haven't tried longer
periods as I put it on the charger every night as a matter of habit.
You know that if you go out of a digital area your battery will
discharge very quickly as the phone keeps searching for a connection,
could that be what's happening?

Re: e815 battery capacity ...
Try turning off EVDO if you don't use it. My battery life was lousy until I
did that, now I get 4 days easy.

Re: e815 battery capacity ...
RS,
EVDO is the video sh*t that Verizon seems to thing everyone can't live
without. If you're in an area that doesn't have it, the phone will keep
searching for it and use up lots of battery in the process. To read how to
disable it and extend your battery life follow this link.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...t=evdo+disable
If you decide to do the disable, understand and follow the instructions
exactly, you can screw up your phone if done wrong. It's not hard, just
don't do it wrong.

Just a note: EVDO is not just for the VCAST service. It is the pipe
that VCAST needs to travel on but EVDO is acutally just a high speed
connection which is great if you are using your phone as a modem.

Re: e815 battery capacity ...
Thanks for clarifying that. I knew that EVDO was really more than the video
service, but wasn't sure what all it could do. I just knew that I didn't use
any of it, and that when I turned it off, my battery life like doubled.
Also, I just noticed that the original poster is not on VZW service, so EVDO
may not even be an issue for him (her).
