I work for a defense contractor and we are not allowed to have cell phones
with working cameras. If I purchase a Razr V3 is it possible to easily
remove the camera lens/unit? What is the best way to (physically) disable
to camera?

If you have a look at www.motomodders.net, www.motox.info or Howrad
Forums there are several postings on disembling V3's for repair and
modification - I'm sure you could work out how to remove the camera
using one of these.

Good question Rick... if it was me, I'd gouge the lens out with an ice
pick, making it's unfavorable condition quite obvious.

um, i work for one of these providers and there is no such file..
we get the same phone as everyone else sealed in a box..
you can however remove the menu item for the camera pretty easy... but, as
it has been said before.
they know the phone has a camera, its not like the people know any better to
know you removed the camera from the phone.
they just know it has one.

Is called a flex file where you can turn off various things such as
bluetooth, and other settings , also the flexc an be custome
configured for diff. porviders using the same phone. My guess is by the
time it gets to the dealers is already flex, and there's no need to
have those tools available to you .

Oh yeah, like you're gonna pull that old BS about you've sprinkled some
magic foofoo dust in it and the camera no longer functions? Sure,
they'll believe THAT! That dog don't hunt.

What a number of coropations do is with cell phones with a camera they
cover the lens with wax.
As a result when I got my cell phone I got one without a camera. (Why
get
a 1 megapixal camera when if I want to take photos i'll use my
3 megapixel digital camera with zoom, printer, etc.)

Re: Removing camera from Razr V3?
On the razr, s simple way to disable the camera without damaging it
would be to pry of the lens cover and replace it with an opaque piece of
plastic or aluminum.

Oh yeah, that'll be real secure - until the next time the phone visits
the loo.
