    Hi all.

New V3c as of last week.

Just downloaded drivers - p3k.sys file dated 7/20/05. I figure this
    should be new enough.

Also downloaded latest mobile phonetools from BVRP.COM.

I have created an mp3 which I want to assign as a ringtone.

I have successfully uploaded the file to the phone with the tools, and
can see it and play it on the phone.

But the option to "Apply as Ring Tone" is not available in the Options
menu for the new sound file. It's just not there, but it is there with
    other mp3s.

As well, the entry in the list on the phone does not show the mp3
extension of the file - for example, I see 'waves.mp3', and 'wings.mp3'
in the sound list - but for my file, it just says 'newsound' instead of
    'newsound.mp3'.

Any thoughts? Is it the size/bitrate of the file? Something about it
needing the extension to be able to use it as a ringtone, but somehow
the extension didn't make it through the transfer? It's a tiny file -
only a couple of seconds. I tried various quality settings, including
    mono, and no luck.

Hopefully it's something basic. But I can't see what it is...

    thanks!!

    BD

Verizon may have disabled the ability to force you to buy theirs. You
can fix it with SEEM edits. See www.xlr8.us/hofo

Well, I'm not on Verizon, but I guess you may be correct anyway. I'll
call the support line for the provider (but I'll bet real money they
won't have a clue what I'm on about), and look into the SEEM edits as
    well..
