I am thinking of getting the Motorola V3X; which I believe is the 3G version
of the Motorola V3 razor, connected via Vodafone in the UK.

However, some phones you get from Vodafone are altered so that you can only
    play MP3's that

have been downloaded from voda live.
I currently have a Sony Ericsson V800 from Vodafone and I cannot use
standard MP3 files as ringtones, the ringtones need to be converted by some
software and have the extension .dm, I think it is something to do with DRM.

If I brought the Motorola V3x from Vodafone would I have the same problem or
will I be able to use standard MP3 files as ringtones & message tone alerts?

Has anyone got a Motorola V3x from Vodafone? What do you think of it?

I hope you can help me.

I appreciate any help or information given.

    Thanks!

The v3x is not a second generation v3. That would be the v3i. The v3x is
    the renamed v1150.
