Music files on V3

I have an unlocked V3 that I got from T-Mobile (silver).

The peculiar thing is that when I transfer midi or mp3 files to it, the phone
rejects about 90% of the files, saying that they are corrupt or have an
unknown component. Some midi and some mp3 files are accepted OK.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with file size as I have plenty of
spare memory on the phone and am only transferring very small music clips.

I thought it would be a simple matter of using any midi or mp3 that I liked as
a ring tone, but it hasn't worked out that way.

Can anyone tell me what causes this and if there is a fix?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

What bit rates are the mp3's that work? This might be a factor.

Cheers

Re: Music files on V3

Convert the bit rate to 128kHz and you'll be fine.
