The USB cable that came with my highly discounted Bluetooth GPS receiver
charges only. They apparently clip the data leads so they can sell you an
additional 'connectivity' cable for 40% of the price of the receiver.
My
PDA mini-USB cable works fine as a charger and data transfers.
Don't assume all the pins in the plugs have connectivity.
