Hi,
In my search for a desktop charger for my A780 spare batteries, I came
across the CHA8250 dual charger for phones such as V500, V600, V60i etc.
As these phones appear (from searching the battery number on accessory
sites) to use the same battery as the A780, (SNN5683a) I bought the charger.
It comes without a power supply, so I used one I had laying around. This is
the correct style of connection, but not a genuine Motorola item.
The charger flashes red, indicating "faulty or invalid battery" when I try
any of my three batteries.
Can anyone confirm that this charger will work with an SNN5683a battery?
or
Is the problem likely to be caused by the after-market power supply?
Is any info available on the battery connections on the SNN5683A?
Thanks,
Tony.

This is likely to be the cause. I have a Nextel battery-only charger which
will flash an error if you use anything but a Motorola wall supply.

Thanks, you were correct!
I got a genuine charger off Ebay for 99p +£2.50p/p and the charger works
great.
Thanks again,
Tony.
