Hi, and thanks in advance for any help. Here is the problem.
I got a used Motorola V600 off of ebay and put in a new sim for my Cingular
service. However I can't seem to change the input language to English.
Currently it is in Chinese. So whenever I try to send a message or save a
phone number, the keypad creates Chinese characters. I have gone to the
initial settings menu and changed the language to English. But this doesn't
affect the keypad input. Obviously the phone came from China. But is this
something that is built into the phone itself. I thought my installation of
a new sim card for my service would correct it. How do I get it fixed.

The SIM card has no effect on language. You could try flashing it with
English firmware. But I personally don't think that would be worth it
-- I would return the phone and get another.

Yes go to www.motox.info there's lots of good info there, being a n00b read
everything you can find there before you try to flash, you can brick your
phone. With that warning , I'll say flashing your phone is easy.
Go to the site listed above and download the MP you want for your phone,
then Google RSD_Lite_2.8. use it to flash your phone and you're done. Make
sure your battery is fully charged before you start the flash.
If I can help email me
