I've had this phone 14 months. In the past month have started
    experiencing two problems:

    (1) I call a friend who also has a V3, hear no rings, the display shows
"connected" but neither of us hears anything. I call right back and it
rings and connects normally. It happens in reverse also, when my friend
calls me. It's not every call, but about 1/4 of them (calling several
times a day). It happend once when I called someone on a landline
    phone.

    (2) Battery - one instance each, last week: low battery, placed on
charger overnight, it showed "charging" but when removed from charger
it showed "unable to charge" - yet it had a 3-bar charge; and after
charging overnight it had no bars but did not show "unable to charge."

The battery seems to hold a fairly good charge still, though it has
decreased over this period, as expected.

Searching several user groups and complaint threads I have not found
mention of either issue. I don't know if it's a phone problem or a
Cingular problem. Before going to Cingular I would like to know what
others have found. Has anyone else found either of these problems?
    Thanks for your insights.

In the first 3 months I had my V3, I had the same problems. About the 3rd
call to support, a nice lady asked me how often I turned the phone off. I
had never turned it off. She said the cell phone, like a PC, needs to be
turned off at least once a month.

After a full charge and off for a night, I never had the problems again. I
make sure all my phones are turned off at least one night a week.

Urban legend that's not really true. When you turn "off" your cell
phone, it continues to run, albeit slowly at low power. To force a
reboot, you have to remove the battery while the phone is turned "on".
