A while back I was attending a conference and my phone (moto V710) went
dead. I turned it off - and on and only could get Analog mode.
Thinking nothing of it I continued until two hours later my battery
drained. I never got digital signal and the battery lasted less than 4
hours. I went back to the store I purchased it from about a year ago
(and luckily it was within the year of warranty).
It took about 5 business days until I got a call that it was ready to be
picked up and the technician explained she had replaced two parts on the
motherboard and that the cost would have been quite high for me if this
was not covered by warranty.
Replaced P.A. 5109908K99 and Replaced Triplexer 4889695L.
So then my next question was of course why this happened and if this was
a known issue why was I not informed earlier that the phone had a
hardware problem (bug - as the technician described). I depend heavily
on my phone and the explanation was even more concerning:
It seems that certain areas are not covered by digital and the phone
will switch to analog, when this happens a lot the phone can get stuck
in this mode and will need costly repairs.
Anyone here have experienced this "bug"?
Oh - Telus is my carrier.
