v360 hacking isn't happening

I'm using the USB data cable to tweak a v360, but there is a tiny
problem.

When I can get the cable to maintain a connection and pull up the file
list via P2KMan, it shows no files in the phone. Also, I can download
seems from the phone but not put them back.

I think there may be a problem with the mini-usb connection on the
handset, but this is my second phone from the same T-Mobile retailer
that has failed to establish workable connections.

I'm leaning toward defective parts, but is anyone familiar with any
T-Moblie specific alterations to these phones that will prevent them
from being altered?

Thanks.

My V360 only lets you access data that is stored on the memory card. If you
want to get pictures etc off the phone, you have to move/copy them to the
memory card. Copyrighted files will not be copied though. It takes a micro
SD (aka Transflash) card.

Yes, I didn't think to mention, my cable is the one I got with my sat nav
(tom tom)! I thought they must have a standard USB connector on them, and a
Moto one was unnecessary.
