You're often better off paying for things, some "free" ringtones,
wallpapers, games, etc. will contain viruses and other malware.
If you do download anything DO NOT open it until you've scanned it with
a good antivirus program.

Zack,
Obtain a copy of Motorola Phone Tools. With it you can edit sound files
and transfer the clips to your moto. If you have it on your PC or a
CDrom you can send it to your phone. (or wife's phone).
You can do the same thing with photos to wallpaper on your phone. You
can also backup your contact list plus some other useful stuff. I
didn't buy retail but got an OEM release of Moto Phone Tools and saved a
few bucks. It comes with a UPC cable you can use to connect your phone
to your PC. Or if your PC is Bluetooth capable the software will use
that for computer to phone transfers or the reverse.
I ordered mine from the Wireless Emporium in California. But, I am sure
that you can locate a seller in the UK. The application will pay for
itself if you use it frequently as I do.

No, but I'm a very suspicious person and have a very strong distrust of
anything from a website/source with which I'm not familiar.

I always download to the computer and transfer to the phone later so I
can scan the file before opening it. Refer again to the "I'm a very
suspicious person" statement. ;-)

IT Week 28Feb07 publishes the following:
"Security software house Kaspersky is warning of a new mobile virus that
does not just target smartphones but any mobile capable of running Java
(J2ME) applications"

If you can edit and convert your audio or pictures with any normal PC
program, you don't even have to invest into the Moto Phone Tools.
You can use P2Ktools or p2kman which can be downloaded free to transfer
files between V3 and PC.
