That would of course by unlawful.
Do you also shoplift, or only steal software?
MPT is available legitimately at low cost from shopoem.com

To the OP, there are other sources such as Ebay where you can obtain it
at low cost. You do NOT need the latest version, it will update itself
    to the latest.

Ebay has sold more than 260,000 items in a single day, your few
examples are statistically insignificant. There are rarely problems,
most retail stores have a higher percent of complaints than Ebay.

Summary = you're wrong about Ebay.

    End of discussion.

What percentage of those items are commercial software, and what
percentage of those do you _know_ (not guess) to be legitimate?
In short, you've not presented any real proof, much less countered
my examples, nor have you shown any real way to tell the difference
between legitimate and illegitimate software auctions.

    >End of discussion.

You are of course welcome to make whatever statements you want, no
matter how unfounded. It's well known in the industry that counterfeit
software is a real problem on eBay, and there's simply no way of knowing
in advance what's legitimate and what's not.

Most of the items that are commercial software are legitimate. I need
present no evidence, ebay's reputation speaks for itself They police
their vendors fairly well and people buy there because they're a proven
source of legitimate software. You're the one who's making the
ridiculous claim that "a high percentage of eBay sales are probably as
illegitimate as downloading from the Internet."

BTW, I've downloaded WinXP Pro, WinXP Home, all versions of Vista,
Office 2003, Office 2007, MapPoint, etc. from the internet, all
completely legitimate so again you're showing you have little knowledge
    of what you're saying.

    > In short, you've not presented any real proof, much less countered
    > my examples

You have presented some very shaky examples showing that ebay has
had some legitimate complaints, no real proof from you and certainly
    nothing that needs countering.

    > nor have you shown any real way to tell the difference between
    > legitimate and illegitimate software auctions.

It's difficult for some but many ebay buyers have an IQ higher than
room temperature and can easily check on a seller simply by examining
    feedback.

    > You are of course welcome to make whatever statements you want, no

You're the one who's made unfounded statements, I'm simply calling
    you on them.

    > It's well known in the industry that counterfeit software is a

    Another untrue statement.

Give it up, Navas, you're sounding like someone with a personal grudge.

If you have no evidence, then you have no case, and (thus far at least)
you have no real evidence, and thus no case.

    >You're the one who's making the
    >ridiculous claim that "a high percentage of eBay sales are probably as

In fact I've provided ample evidence that many eBay software sales are
illegitimate, whereas you've provided no evidence at all. The only open
question is how bad the problem is.

    >BTW, I've downloaded WinXP Pro, WinXP Home, all versions of Vista,

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

That has nothing to do with the issue of legitimacy.

You're actually just making unsubstantiated claims.

Contradicted by the evidence I've already presented.

    >Give it up, Navas, you're sounding like someone with a personal grudge.

Since you have no case, it's not terribly surprising that you're
stooping to ad hominem, but all that really does is concede the debate
    to me. Thank you.
