#1 | | Guest | I haven't been able to figure out how to customize my KRZR home
screen. With my V551 and V557 I could place icons on the home screen
for the things I use most. I don't see any way to do that with the
KRZR. It forces you to go to Menu first, then scroll through the
selections. I know I can change the order of things in the menu, but
that really doesn't do what I want.

You mean the soft keys? Check Motorola modding sites.

No, the navigation keys. I have Message Center, Calendar, Settings
and Address Book on the main screen of the V551 and V557. I can
access any one of these four by pressing the up, down, left or right
on the navigation key. On the KRZR, there does not seem to be a way
to put any of these on the home screen.

Which carrier? I can do that with my new RAZR V3xx (Settings ->
Personalize -> Home Screen -> Home Keys), and would be very surprised if
that same feature wasn't there on the KRZR.

The carrier is AT&T. When I follow that sequence, Home Keys lets me
change the clock from digital to analog, and change the layout from
centered to left justified. That's it!

That's Home Screen, not Home Keys, which should be a menu item in Home
Screen -- see page 67 of
<http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/K1CING_9503A53O.pdf>
Also, did you check Motorola modding sites (as I suggested)?

You were right as usual John. Everytime I went to that screen, I saw
Home Keys at the top, with two selections under it. Never occured to
me to select the words Home Keys itself. All I had to do was unhide
the icons and Voila! Just like I wanted. Thanks.
Where are these modding sites? Are they usenet groups or actual
websites?

Glad the hear that.

Those are websites; e.g., www.planetmotox.net/ http://www.motox.info/ www.motomodders.net/ www.themotoguide.com/ www.modmymoto.com/ www.modyomoto.com/
and the Motorola wiki below.
