I initially had the same problem with my Krazr K1.
Somewhere in the menus, I stumbled over and/or changed a setting that
had defaulted to using phone memory rather than the
SIM card for
these maybe?
Sorry I can't remember exactly what, but that's what you're looking
for. :-)
I can say I've got my address book to View>
SIM card only. I have
Speed Dial: phone memory in that Initial Setup menu. Finally, while
in an addressbook entry, the options menu where manage contacts has a
"speed dial" function where you can assign them.
Somewhere in there you should be able to get it working for ya.
