I have been searching for a couple of days for a solution for my Daughter's V3 (TMobile branded). I have talked to TMobile and Motorola customer service to no avail other than sending it for service

The phone is out of warranty and had developed a screen indication wanting software to be loaded:
    Boot Loader 08.26
    SW Ver....................
    OK to program
    USB transfer mode
    Phone code sig..........

I have tried all the usual power off and battery removal resets, but can't get the screen back to normal. My computer has an issue recognizing the phone as well but works fine with my V3. Any ideas on how one would reset this thing?
    Thank in advance!

Sorry I can't remember how to do this but it sounds like you or a family
member has activated programming mode on the 'phone. It's a key combination
and putting it back to normal boot up I can't remember how. At the worst
it'll need a reflash/flex and you can do this yourself with the right cable
    and freely available software.

Have a read of this: http://www.hackthev3.com/flash_motorola_v3.html

You have it in boot mode. Flash it with an upgrade from www.planetmotox.net (instructions are there) and it should be fine.

Thanks for the replies! That is exactly what I did. Could not get the computer to see the phone, but solved that with RSD Lite 3.7. Then found the older SW ver (dated 2005) that was compatible with the phone on Motox. Works like a charm!!! Daughter is happy that she has her phone now and not a brick. Saved the SW just in case this happens again.
